For Caregivers

Smiling mom and daughter.

As someone caring for a family member, friend or other loved one facing a cancer diagnosis, you play a critical role in helping with day-to-day tasks, providing moral support and assisting as they make decisions about treatment.

At The University of Kansas Cancer Center, we've assembled a few helpful resources for cancer caregivers. In addition to these resources, our staff members are happy to answer any questions you have. They can also provide personal guidance regarding the best ways you can support your loved one while caring for yourself.

Turning Point

Turning Point offers programs to empower and transform the mind, body and spirit of patients and their caregivers who are facing serious and chronic physical illnesses. Programs are designed to heal and inform and cover topics like nutrition, body movement, practical matters and managing stress and anxiety.

Classes are held at 8900 State Line Road, Suite 240, Leawood, Kansas, as well as at clinics of The University of Kansas Cancer Center and other sites across the metro area. There is no cost, but preregistration is required. To preregister for a class or program, call 913-574-0900. Or, see their program schedule online.

Brandmeyer Resource Center

The Brandmeyer Patient Resource Center is located on our Westwood Campus in the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Pavilion. This resource center offers the latest information about cancer, treatments and clinical trials. Call 913-588-0131 for more information.
