Kansas City, Kan. – Olathe Health Cancer Center is now a location of The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
The University of Kansas Cancer Center in Olathe will continue to provide the highest quality cancer care close to home, while expanding patients’ access to research clinical trials and the most advanced treatment options. The University of Kansas Cancer Center has 14 locations throughout Kansas and Missouri.
“We are excited to be able to build upon the excellent oncology care already provided at the Olathe Health Cancer Center by establishing The University of Kansas Cancer Center in Olathe, providing nationally recognized clinical and surgical expertise,” said Jeffrey Holzbeierlein, MD, FACS, vice president and physician in chief, The University of Kansas Cancer Center. “We welcome the highly skilled and dedicated oncology experts in Olathe. This is one more step to ensure even more people in our region experience superior cancer care close to home.”
Integration of the 2 cancer centers is part of the overall joining of The University of Kansas Health System with Olathe Health, which was formalized in January 2023. Initial steps to unite the cancer centers began in July 2023 when Jamie Wagner, DO, MBA, division chief of breast surgical oncology at The University of Kansas Cancer Center, began offering a breast clinic at Olathe Health Cancer Center.
