Roy Jensen, MD, vice chancellor and director of The University of Kansas Cancer Center, has been named to the national Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). ACS CAN is the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy arm of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Jensen’s term beings January 1, 2023.
Dr. Jensen has partnered with ACS CAN for decades, advocating for policies that have the potential to save lives and decrease the incidence of cancer. This includes supporting increased coverage for lung cancer screenings under Kansas’ Medicaid program, a ban on indoor tanning for youth under the age of 18 and higher taxes on tobacco products.
“It is truly an honor to join the board of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network,” Dr. Jensen said. “I look forward to deepening my involvement with the nation’s leading cancer advocacy organization.”
